If you are are mare owner looking for a Welsh Pony stallion with an excellent temperament, you’ve come to the right place! *Llanarth Royalty has stolen our hearts, and has shown us time and again that he’s more than just a pretty face! Although his breeder told us about his love for children, we did not quite anticipate how charming he would be!
Pictured here with our nearly three year old daughter, this is just one of his many displays of docile behavior and gentle curiosity. Much to her dismay, our daughter is never left unattended with the ponies, but as you can see she still has her share of priceless moments. Please excuse the poor quality photograph, but this snapshot was taken on a cell phone, and was not part of a planned photo shoot.
The importance of a good temperament on a pony breeding stallion (or broodmare) should not be overlooked. Our business is family owned and operated, so we know first-hand how crucial it is to have ponies everyone can enjoy. Feel free to give us a call or drop us an email for more information about Royalty, and if he’s a good fit for your mare!

We are incredibly thrilled to introduce our latest arrival from Wales, the fabulous Welsh Pony stallion prospect *Llanarth Royalty! Only mere weeks after purchasing Wedderlie Marvellous, we were given the irresistible opportunity to purchase Royalty, and it was a no-brainer! He has everything we have been looking for in a herd sire: temperament, type, substance, size, movement, and bone. We feel he has a lot to offer to North American breeders, and are looking forward to crossing him to our mares in the spring.
He is the last stallion son sired by the late Douthwaite Signwriter, a Multi-Supreme Champion and four-time Horse of the Year (HOTY) Qualifier. Royalty’s dam, Cottrell Gwener, has an equally impressive résumé, having been not only a Supreme Champion mare, but also captured a win at the Royal Welsh Show, then went onto win Reserve Champion. Not to be overlooked, Royalty’s damsire is none other than the Royal Welsh Champion, Cwrtycadno Cadfridog. Cadfridog is no longer available for public stud, but was able to sire a plethora of champion ponies before retirement.
Royalty will soon be released from the standard USDA quarantine facility in New York, and will then be making the trip down to his CEM Quarantine facility in Virginia. We are very much looking forward to bringing him home when he has his final release from quarantine in October.
We cannot thank Ann and Len Bigley of the Llanarth Stud enough for entrusting us with this amazing colt! He is simply everything we dreamed of and more! We are looking forward to beginning Royalty’s training in the coming months. Due to his intense training and show schedule, he will only be available to a limited number of outside mares in 2015. Please contact us for more details.

After three years of searching for the perfect stallion prospect, we are pleased to present the outrageously handsome Wedderlie Marvellous!! He is a sensational black Welsh Pony colt, destined for great success. The photograph to the left, taken by his breeder, was the first picture we ever saw of him, and it was that moment we knew we had to have him; It was love at first sight! Even as a very young foal, he has an amazing presence that screams “Look at me!”. He should make an top class stallion, with promise to add back to North American mares his super of bone and substance. He has wonderful type, and looks to make an excellent size of 13-13.2 hands.
He is sired by the Multi-Supreme Champion stallion & Royal Welsh winning sire, Llanarth Da Vinci. Wedderlie Mariota, the dam of Marvellous, was Champion of the Royal of Scotland and is also a full sibling to the two-time US National Champion & Royal Welsh Champion *Wedderlie Mardi Gras. Marvellous is an excellent product of the beautiful marriage of these two distinct bloodlines in the United Kingdom.
We believe it is very important for young colts and stallions to have exposure to life outside of the breeding shed; Marvellous will certainly follow in this direction! After his arrival, we will begin preparing him to enter the show ring in-hand. Look for him at the Devon Horse Show and the Upperville Colt and Horse Show in 2015!
We are looking forward to having Marvellous home with us in the winter of 2014. Thank you very much to Marion Tilson of the Wedderlie Stud in Scotland for entrusting us him!! We couldn’t be any more elated to have a colt of his quality joining our herd!

We are proud to offer an incredible Welsh Pony mare for sale, Smoke Tree Black Pearl! She is a coming 7-year-old small smoky black mare, who gave us a sensational filly in 2013, named Lorelei Google Me (by *Mynach Master Class). Black Pearl is very laid back and easy going, and is occasionally ridden around our farm with only a halter and leadrope (although never formally started under saddle). She is very friendly and calm around children, and will make a fantastic children’s show pony!
Black Pearl is full sibling to both Smoke Tree Poetry in Motion and Smoke Tree Starlet. We had the pleasure of campaigning Poetry in Motion to by the national leader in points for Pony Hunter Breeding Yearlings before he was sold on as a stallion prospect to Silver Creek Farm. He was several times Pony Hunter Breeding Champion as well as a winner on the WPCSA circuit. Her other full sibling, Starlet, placed 2nd on the line at Devon as a youngster and is now a Small Pony Hunter for a top show barn on the east coast.
For more information on Smoke Tree Black Pearl, feel free to call or email us!

Smoke Tree Black Pearl surprised us all when she delivered an absolutely phenomenal bay filly covered with white from head to toe! Introducing our newest addition, Lorelei Google Me!
Google Me is the first and only foal to be sired by 2x US National Champion, *Mynach Master Class, who will be expecting his first full foal crop in 2014. Master Class is full sibling to 2x Royal Welsh Champion Mynach Miss Prim, *Mynach Mystical, our our very own Mynach Miss Muffet.
Her dam, Smoke Tree Black Pearl, is full sibling to Multi Pony Hunter Breeding Champion, Smoke Tree Poetry In Motion and Supreme Champion Smoke Tree Starlet.
Google Me is being retained for our show and breeding program. Watch for her in the show ring in 2014 and beyond, she will definitely be one you won’t want to miss!

*Holyoake Tamzin did not disappoint us on July 19th, when she delivered an absolutely stunning palomino filly! We are over the moon with her newborn, who we have named Lorelei Socialite.
*Holyoake Tamzin, is by the Supreme Champion, Holyoake Fire Sprite, out of a UK Medal winning mare, Millcroft Rosette. Socialite is by *Wedderlie Mardi Gras, a Royal Welsh Champion and two-time US National Champion stallion, known for throwing typey faces, long necks, and exceptional temperaments.
This filly is no exception, with a gorgeous big eye, fantastic hip and shoulder angles, and a perfect teacup muzzle. She is also beautifully marked with a blaze and four white legs! It truly feels like we’ve hit the jackpot!
Needless to say, this filly is a keeper and will be retained for our program. We plan to show her on the line beginning in 2014 on both the Hunter and WPCSA circuits. She’s one that will be hard to miss!

Pony Hunter Breeding at the RMI Spring Forward show was a huge success for our yearling Welsh Pony filly, Clanfair Sweet Violet! We are proud to announce that she was Champion Best Young Pony under judge John Berkos. She was an absolute super star and took everything in stride, we could not be any prouder of how well everything went.
Violet was imported in-utero and is the only pony sired by the Royal Welsh Winner Millcroft Manchero in all of North America! Her dam, *Hoekhorst Sweet Symphony, was hugely successful in the show ring as well before being imported in 2012, earning herself Multi-Supreme Champions as well as becoming a UK Medal Winner. Violet is turning out to be everything we hoped for and more as a show pony.
Thank you so much Brandon Gibson for handling our filly during the show. Also to the Lorelei “team” and Gretchen Aitken for helping us prepare for this moment. Look out for Violet more this show season!

The first Welsh Pony show of the year for us was the Carolina Welsh Spring Show, and it was tons of fun! We took out our two yearlings, Smoke Tree Poetry in Motion (Poet) and Clanfair Sweet Violet (Violet), and we couldn’t have been more proud. The in-hand classes were double judged, so the ponies had two sets of results for this show.
Before the show and after the baths the ponies receive before leaving, we took this photo of our blossoming filly, Violet.
She is becoming more and more beautiful by the day, and is just a pleasure to be around. We are so excited to continue showing her and watch her grow into a beautiful mare one day. Thank you so much to Gretchen Aitken for allowing us the opportunity to purchase this filly even though she was not for sale. Gretchen imported her in-utero after having bred Violet using Lesa Dixon’s stallion, the Royal Welsh Winner Millcroft Manchero.
Poet was entered in the WPCSA Two and under Colts class, where he placed first under Judge Deborah Howell, and second under Judge Randy Bullard. Violet was entered in the WPCSA Two and under Fillies class, where she placed first under BOTH judges! This was Violet’s first show, and she behaved like she had done it a million times before. We could not have been more proud of both of these fabulous yearlings!
We would like to thank the Carolina Welsh Club and everyone involved in putting on this spectacular show! Deborah Branson and Jen Sommer were such a tremendous help, and it was also wonderful to meet the friendly and very helpful exhibitors showing their ponies.

At the RMI Tri-State this weekend our junior colt, Smoke Tree Poetry in Motion, was named DOUBLE Best Young Pony in his Pony Hunter Breeding classes, after winning both of his Pony Hunter Breeding Yearling classes! We are so very excited to watch his progress through the show season and are proud to announce his wins. He will continue to be shown throughout the season in the Pony Hunter Breeding classes as well as on the WCPSA circuit. Next month marks the first Welsh Pony show of the season for us, and we plan to show two of our ponies.
Thank you to the folks at Rush Management , Inc (RMI) for putting on this wonderful show. As an owner, it was thrilling to show our colt without a professional handler and learn so much from the judges along the way. Lots of beautiful horses and ponies, can’t wait to go back again!
